Artist’s Bio

Jenna Everhart is a 22-year-old visual artist based in Boone, North Carolina. She was born in Florida, but moved to North Carolina at the age of three and grew up in the state. She graduated  high school in 2019 and is currently pursuing a BFA Studio Art degree at Appalachian State University with an anticipated graduation date of Fall 2023. Her work is inspired by childhood imagination, nostalgia, and sentimentality, as well as her love for collectibles and knick-knacks, the horror genre, magic and the occult, and cats.

Everhart works in acrylic, oil, and watercolor, often in combination with each other, and enjoys experimenting with various mediums. Her work attempts to create a sense of childlike imagination and whimsy in the viewer, as well as a sense of mystery and intrigue. Everhart is inspired by many artists in the pop surrealism and lowbrow genre, and embraces an intentionally kitschy aesthetic.

Her work has been shown at the Nth Gallery in Boone, NC, and various spaces throughout the area.  Everhart has also collaborated with other artists on designs for clothing. She currently resides in Boone, North Carolina with her cat Pecan, her snake Hannibal, and her collection of houseplants, and works part time at a restaurant as well as modeling for figure drawing sessions.
